Description: This polygon shapefile of future land uses of Berkeley County, SC was created with the intent of updating the comprehensive plan in 2010. The contents are designed to be a single layer of these future land uses with the intent of visualizing each area's potential purpose. It is generalized future land uses derived from multiple layers and sources including several conservation and recreation layers, public input layers, DNR and USGS data, and county mainatined GIS data. It was developed through a series of clips, buffers, merges, disolves and other common ArcGIS tools. It is meant to be general, with blurry outlines as to not identify any one property for any one land use.
